Prayer is fundamental to what we do. How we pray and the frequency of prayer together will always will be a measure of the health of St. Peters. Through prayer we come closer to God and are formed into the way of Christ. We will begin to see the world as God sees it, sharing His love of it and His compassion for it. Prayer is vital in the life of the church and upholds all that we do.
St. Peter's encourages prayer, both individually and within all our church activities. There are regular opportunities to be engaged in prayer with others at St. Peters.
Thursday Morning
Prayer in the Church Centre starting at 9.00 am lasting 40 to 45 minutes. Starting with a passage of scripture, an opportunity to pray for the church's ministry and mission and specifically for people who we know and love.
The 'Prayer Chain'
This is a group of people who will pray for people and situations during their personal devotions. Any problem, personal crisis or need can be prayed for through the support of fellow pray-ers. This prayer request could be for yourself, a situation in which you find yourself, a friend, colleague, relative or person who is in need. Please contact the prayer chain. You can do this by contacting the Chaplain (Nick) 03 44 58 53 22 or nick.clarke@stpeters.fr
A Prayer for Us and our Community
Heavenly Father
We thank you for your grace so freely given.
At St. Peter's we desire to grow in your grace.
Make us so overwhelmed at the enormity of your commission to us,
so overjoyed at your trust in us,
and so overawed at the love you have for us
that we answer your call with faith,
repay your trust with hope,
and accept with cheerfulness the responsibility
of supporting your work.
Amen.

Prayer

"God has graciously allowed me to catch a glimpse into his heart, and I want to share with you what I have seen. Today the heart of God is an open wound of love. ...And he is inviting you - and me - to come home, to come home to where we belong, to come home to that for which we were created. His arms are stretched out wide to receive us. His heart is enlarged to take us in." (Richard Foster in Prayer p1)
