Posted by: MORELLE on Saturday September 02, 2017
9h00 Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer)
10h30 Family Communion
After the service refreshments are served in the Church Centre.
Prayer meetings - every Thursday at 8h45
A reminder that members of the church meet every week for prayer. These meetings last about an hour.
Gardening morning 9th September from 9h30
To tidy up after the restoration work to the perimeter wall and in preparation to Rentrée Apéro the following week we are having a gardening day in the church grounds. All welcome whatever your level of expertise and please bring your own tools!
Bring & Share lunch 10th September
Advance notice that the next bring & share lunch will be held as usual on the second Sunday of the month after the morning service. Please do come if you can; it's a great opportunity to socialize with other members of the St Peter's family.
Rentrée Apéritif 16th September
Our traditional family rentrée event will be held from 18h00 to 20h30. This year we are exceptionally holding it at the church premises to celebrate the completion of the latest phase of the restoration works. Please invite your 'entourage' to join you. Amanda would welcome offers of help with providing finger food. An invitation from Amanda is attached.
Les Journées du Patrimoine 2017
St Peter's wishes to associate itself with the Journées Européennes du Patrimoine on the 16th & 17th September by opening and staffing the church on the Saturday from 10h00 to 16h00 and on the Sunday from the end of Morning Worship also through to 16h00. If you are available for a two hour stint to welcome any visitors please make yourself known to Sarah, Geoffrey, or Nick.
St Peter's Christmas Kermesse - Saturday 25th November
Please note the 10th October for the pre-Kermesse aperitif at the Church Centre at 18h30.
Our first Christmas decoration craft workshop will be held on Friday 8th September at 14h00. Please ring Susie if you would like to come along or for more information. In addition, we are calling all knitters to keep up the good work with their knitting needles and crochet hooks for Isabelle Leroy's wool craft stand.
The book team will be making a request for books in a few weeks time but they have also mentioned that they are always in need of masses of old sheets to use as table cloths. If you have any old sheets you were planning to throw out, please hang on to them for a few more weeks for the kermesse.
Those members of St Peter's who have been around for over six years will remember the Jane & Matt Foster-Smith and their family who took an active part in St Peter's including running the youth group. Jane has now been accepted to train for ordained ministry and writes:
"As I begin training for ordination (part-time for 3 years), I am desperately seeking prayer support. I was wondering if you would mind asking the wonderful folks at St. Peter's if they would be able to pray for me and the Foster-Smith family? I would like to send a monthly email with items for prayer so I would really appreciate it if those who would like to pray for me regularly (even if it is just once a month) could email me and I will make a circulation list."
Bon week-end à toutes et à tous,
On behalf of Rev. Sarah Tillett (Chaplain)
