Sunday - 5th November, two worship services: Talking for the Kingdom from Colossians 4
Posted by: MORELLE on Saturday November 04, 2017
9h00 Holy Communion
10h30 Family Worship
The 10h30 service is for all ages, so there are no young people's groups this week.
We are making a giant Christingle (Google it if that is a new word for you!) so come and join us at 15h in the Church Centre. Please bring old magazines and a creative spirit! There will be refreshments!
Armistice / Remembrance Day
On Saturday 11th November there will be a Service of Remembrance at 16h on Armistice Day at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The preacher will be our Archdeacon, the Ven. Meurig Williams.
On Sunday 12th November we will have a time of Remembrance at the morning service at St Peter's.
Kermesse Preparations - Saturday 25th November
With only 3 weeks to go, we are still looking for helpers for setting up on the 23rd and 24th, on the day and most importantly, for clearing up from 5pm on the Saturday. Please contact Patricia or Lesley to offer a few hours of your time to help!
We ask you to leave the following items in the Church Centre:
Unwanted Jewellery, Gifts and Accessories, clearly marked for Barbara.
Bottles for the Tombola, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, clearly marked for Kate. See the attachment!
Good condition French and English books, in carrier bags, for the book sorting team.
Christmas Cards and Crackers, for Janis.
Please continue to search for Bric à Brac and children's toys, which we would prefer to be delivered directly to the Espace Bouteiller on Friday, 24th November.
The Food Stall team will be requesting marmalade, jam, chutney, cakes, mince pies and other goodies, closer to the time, but Amanda
Godfrey would be delighted to get offers of produce for the stall. Many of these can be made in advance.
With many thanks to everyone. Lesley & Patricia
Carol Singing: Calling all carol singers! There will be an opportunity to bring some musical Christmas cheer with carol singing at the Kermesse at 14.30. The more the merrier, so for all those interested please free yourselves up from your stalls and join in!
Love in a Box
The St Peter's CGA (Charitable Giving Association) will be supporting ‘LOVE IN A BOX’ again this year. Our present filled shoe boxes will be taken to the American Cathedral in Paris the week beginning 27th November ( day to be decided ). This wonderful initiative gives so much joy to children at Christmas and your support and enthusiasm is greatly appreciated. Any questions to Régis or Henny please.
Bring & Share lunch
Advance notice that the next bring & share lunch will be after the Remembrance Service and before the choir practice on Sunday 12th November.
Choir Needed - Lessons & Carols on 17th December
Replies from willing choristers are trickling in, but not enough so far to make this viable . Please let Michelle know ASAP if you would like to participate. Enthusiasm and an ability to hold a musical line required- reading music is an advantage but not a necessity. Michelle is particularly on the lookout for more men! First practice Sunday 12th November 14h00 at church. Contact Michelle.
Commemoration of the Reformation 26th November
An e(edited)enical event to commemorate the reformation will be held at Agnetz at the Collège Sainte J. d'Arc in the afternoon of Sunday 26th November. The organisers would love us to participate with a reading or prayers of intercession. Please let Sarah T or Nick S know if you are able to participate in this way.
