Today Saturday 11th November there will be a Service of Remembrance at 16h on Armistice Day at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The preacher will be our Archdeacon, the Ven. Meurig Williams.
As mentioned above we will have a time of Remembrance at the morning service at St Peter's. A poem is also attached to the bulletin which was written by a 12 year old girl particularly moved one member of the community who asked that it be shared with the circulation.
Kermesse Preparations - Saturday 25th November
Good news - this year's posters and flyers have arrived. Please spread the good word. The flyers are at the back of the Church and can be given to your friends, neighbours and family.
It is that time of year again, time to search through all your cupboards for those bits and pieces you haven't used for ages and really never will. We are looking for new items for the gift stall, bric a brac (no electrical goods please) toys , books, bottles of alcohol and new knitted items. These can all be left in the Church Centre clearly labelled 'kermesse' or brought to the Espace Bouteiller on Thursday the 23rd November, latest Friday 24th. For the cake stall we will also be asking for hand made jams and marmelades as well as your special creation of cakes.
We will be sending a separate message concerning our need for more volunteers. Many thanks again
Patricia & Lesley
Carol Singing on the day: Calling all carol singers! There will be an opportunity to bring some musical Christmas cheer with carol singing at the Kermesse at 14.30. The more the merrier, so for all those interested please free yourselves up from your stalls and join in!
Love in a Box
On behalf of the St Peter’s Sunday school team, we would like to do the “Love in A Box” Christmas gift shoes boxes for children & adults that are less fortunate than us.
The last day to get these boxes to the church centre will be Sunday 26th November, no later please, so that Henny and her team can deliver them to Paris the following week.
Please could you bring any unused shoe boxes, preferably already wrapped up in Christmas wrapping, but no problem if you don’t have time to wrap before as we can do it together with the children.
We do ask that you check the Love in A Box” checklist & place any items to be contributed in the basket labelled “Love in A Box” in the church centre at the back near the Library bookshelf please!
All donations & shoe boxes to be collected by Sunday 19th November, so everything is boxed up & ready to go by Sunday 26th November.
Thanks so much in advance, this will make a difference to the children & adults that can not have such treats at Christmas.
Any questions please do not hesitate to ask one of the Sunday school team leaders, or Régis & Henny.
