Welcome to this week's edition of St Peter's Chantilly bulletin.
The dawn chorus is always fantastic to hear but it is just a huge sound. It isn’t until you stop to really listen that you can start to make out the individual voices of the birds. This morning, the prominent voice was the turtle dove. A lovely soft sound, somewhere between a collard dove and a purr!
They are very shy birds and difficult to see but their voice is distinctive.

The financial update was that we have made a loss in the first half of the year so fundraising is now of the upmost importance. St. Peter’s day saw the launch of the major fundraising program outlining our vision and prioritising children and youth work. The fundraising team (Parish/Chaplaincy Funding Program) will meet on 10th July to discuss the next steps with the aim of producing a leaflet and the vision for a big event in September.
There will be a meeting on Thursday 5th July of the youth and children ministry teams to discuss the ministry vision and way forward with several families moving away in the summer.
The Chaplaincy data base update and centralisation has started and will be a work in progress over the summer and there are now GDRP notices displayed in the Church and church centre to comply with the law. Safeguarding checks/training still needs to be completed by a few relevant people and the deadline for completion is September.
The British tombs in Brouillon Cemetry and Disabled access/parking spaces for the Church members were discussed and a RDV with the Chantilly Mairie will be requested to discuss both these issues.
